Welcome To
American Volunteer Reserve
American Volunteer Reserve is a military and veterans service and support organization. Become a member today and join our volunteers in twenty-eight states. Members include prior service and non-prior-service patriotic citizens, men and women, possessing special skills that contribute to fulfillment of the AVR mission.
We operate along a traditional military
cadre structure. We have trained uniformed regularly-drilling volunteer reservists who make up
our Headquarters elements,
Honors Detachments, Communications Detachments, Medical Companies and General Support Battalions.
We have members who support military funeral honors . AVR troops are regularly detailed for local,
regional and national military and veterans commemorations, parades and color guard duties. During
times of natural or man-made disasters, AVR services include medical and other emergency response
teams to serve the public in any regard necessary. We also assist with communications, chaplain
services, crowd control, mounted units and private aircraft for search and rescue, engineer units,
public affairs and administrative support.
The AVR is a not-for-profit public benefit corporation and has been granted
501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.
