4th Battalion
The 4th Honors and Homeland Defense Battalion rendered Final Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, California July 8th to a United States Navy World War II Veteran. Even with temperatures over 107 degrees, the 4th Battalion provided full Military Honors with a live bugler, firing party of seven, escort company, and guidon bearer. The family was very impressed and so grateful that they donated a set of BDU's to all 4th battalion personnel who participated in the detail. The 4th Battalion has been providing Final Honors, Color Guard detail, VIP security and other functions to support the City and Community since 1994. The battalion is a recipient of numerous awards, from cities, County of Los Angeles, State of California, military and civic organizations and a personal Letter of Commendation from President George W. Bush and President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,President of the Republic of the Philippines.
