Clarification on New Medals
On 11 March 2006 the AVR Board of Directors authorized the wearing of two U. S. Military Commemorative Medals. At this time no other Commemorative Medals have been authorized.
Numerous Commemorative Medals are produced by numerous companies. There are often different designs for the same event or award. The BOD referred to the Medals of America catalogue as a guide, no endorsement, to select the medals that would best cover the varied military service of AVR personnel.
Order of precedence of decorations and awards for AVR personnel.
- Federal.
- Foreign-Awards and decorations to U. S. military personnel by a foreign country.
- National Guard.
- State Defense Forces.
- American Volunteer Reserve.
- U. S. Commemorative Medals. (Two only)
